The Walker Center

This iconic building has classic architecture that can make for a fantastic city skyline shot. The Walker Center is a skyscraper that opened in 1912 and at the time it was built, it was the tallest building between San Francisco and Chicago. The tower on top actually changes colors to reflect the current weather. Red means snow- bundle up!

Fall Colors, Lake Blanche, Big Cottonwood Canyon

Take a ride up any of the mountain canyons on the outskirts of the city in September and October, and you’ll be awash in the glow of autumn colors. Gorgeous aspens flame yellow torches against the sky and roads unfurl like ribbons through a vibrant tapestry of reds and oranges. Get out and snap the perfect pic against a backdrop that just screams, it’s fall y’all!

Bonneville Salt Flats, Wendover

Don’t worry- the drive is totally worth it. About an hour outside the city are the Bonneville Salt Flats, huge tracts of salty soil that remain from what used to be the ancient Lake Bonneville. All that white sand and impossibly blue skies makes for high contrast pictures that are just perfect.

Cathedral of the Madeleine

A gorgeous Catholic cathedral in the heart of Salt Lake City? You betcha. Cathedral of the Madeleine is a beautiful example of the typical stained glass windows and vaulted, gold leafed ceilings that never fail to awe. Even the outside of the cathedral is a wonder, intricate with gray stone turrets and towers.

Salt Lake City Murals, Eborn Books

There are many, many murals around Salt Lake City that make for prime Instagram fodder. This one, located outside a used book store, is one of the most photographed and perfect for family and senior photo shoots. Say cheese!

Mormon Tabernacle, Temple Square

Can you come to Salt Lake and not snap a shot here? Probably not. I think it’s a rule. Brides and missionaries, tourists and locals- everyone has at least one photo of themselves standing in the shadow of the LDS temple. Want something exceptional? Come during the holidays when Temple Square becomes an amazing light display for the entire community,

Finca

A popular foodie destination, this restaurant is one of the most Instagrammable spots and a favorite with hipsters. Snap a shot leaning against the beautiful bar or lounging beneath the lobby chandelier in overstuffed chairs that seem to have arrived from another century. If you can, take a peak into one of the curtained booths that flank the side of the restaurant to see the infamous flowered wallpaper, which has been featured in magazine photos. it makes a fantastic backdrop for some drool-worthy craft cocktails.
