Letchworth State Park
Known as the "Grand Canyon of the East", Letchworth State Park is a must to visit. It is located in Castile, NY and well worth the short trip. It has three large waterfalls and many smaller waterfalls within the park. It has plenty of picnic tables and pavilions, as well as over 60 miles of hiking trails, a playground, two swimming pools, restrooms, and more. The scenery is amazing and beyond breathtaking. Be sure to bring your camera for plenty of photo shoots and plan to spend the day here.
Hamlin Beach State Park
This fabulous park is situated on over 1,200 acres along Lake Ontario in Hamlin, NY. There are many picnic tables and a few pavilions available here. Several playgrounds, a 6-mile hiking and biking trail, and the sandy beach and water will provide your family with hours of great summertime fun. You will need to spend the day here and will not want to leave. Restrooms are available.
Mendon Ponds Park
Mendon Ponds Park is the largest in Monroe County and located in the towns of Pittsford, NY and Mendon, NY. Its 2,500 acres of land house six pavilions and seven shelters complete with picnic tables, grills, stove tops, playgrounds, a sensory garden, Wild Wings Inc., hiking, kayaking, restrooms, and much more. A lovely park that is historical as well.
Greece Canal Park
Located in the town of Greece, NY, this park is over 500 acres in size and has plenty of picnic tables, grills, shelters, playgrounds, hiking, bird watching, tennis, restrooms, and even a dog park for your furry friends (registration is required). After you have eaten and checked out the playgrounds you can take a hike along the Erie Canal, which runs alongside of this park.
Powder Mills Park
Powder Mills Park is located in the town of Pittsford, NY and approximately 380 acres in size. It has several picnic tables, six lodges, four shelters, sand volleyball, several hiking trails, a playground, and restrooms available. To see several varieties of fish, the Fish Hatchery at Powder Mills Park is a family favorite.
